BioWUML'S COFFEE AND CARTOONS NOW HAS A PRESENCE ON THE WEB!
(It's one small step in the direction I was headed, and one giant LEAP out of procrastination!)
This really is just the beginning. (I've probably just jinxed myself by saying that!) Here you will find, among other things, some archived set-lists, and news and information about the Coffee and Cartoons show (and related items of interest). Someday, there will be a real webpage to go with this, and this will be more of a forum and less of an archive. For now, this is as good a place as ANY to start.
Coffee and Cartoons is a radio program that features underground (non-mainstrem) folk and comedy music. It can be heard FRIDAY afternoons (we've moved!) from 2PM to 4PM on 91.5 FM WUML, Lowell. It can also be heard online anywhere with the station's webstream: http://www.wuml.org/. The request line, during those 2 hours, is 978-934-4969, or you can use AOL IM to contact the station by sending a message to WUMLradio. Outside of those 2 hours, send requests and comments to coffeeandcartoons@wuml.org, or post replies to topics HERE!
The show itself tends to be upbeat, striving to have a coffee-shop presence on the airwaves that invites you to pull up a seat and get your underground music fix. Coffee and Cartoons strives to be an all-audiences program, with something that everyone, young and old, can enjoy. There's not a whole lot of science behind it... the program is driven by listener-input, and its aim is to entertain. Every week, you'll hear a concert report, a "weekly love song", certified terrible jokes (Jetta cheese, anyone?), and a wealth of Comedy and Folk music. Sometimes there are feature-based programs (highlighting artists or types of music), and sometimes there are talented in-studio guests that play music just for US! Songs, silliness, and surprises... that's the STUFF of Coffee and Cartoons. Speaking of surprises... listen for NEW FEATURES now that the show is on a new day
